Let’s Play with The Critshow

Art by Jonathan Romp

Are you a game designer or publisher with a new game launching soon? Reach a wider audience and show what your game is all about with a Let’s Play with The Critshow!

When you work with us to promote your game, we’ll do a small on-air interview with whomever is running the game (usually one of the creators) and then create characters, play through a session, and do end of session, all bookended by original music written by our in-house musician Jake Pierle. We edit the audio down into (usually 3-4) episodes of 45-60 minutes each, send you the finished audio files to post, and then release them on our RSS feed on an agreed-upon date.

Prices are flexible based on the means of the creator/designer/publisher. If you’re interested in discussing your game, send us a message through our contact form!

Golden Lasso Games (Decuma) joins us once again with Starscape—a sci-fi tabletop roleplaying game where you are part of a starship crew journeying through space, bonding through adversity, and becoming a found-family. You build your ship and crew, then play to find out if your characters trust each other enough to unite for a shared purpose, or if your differences and the challenges of living in space drive you apart.

Divination RPG is a rich roleplaying experience where tarot’s essence fuses with tested, true RPG mechanics, making each card flip as satisfying as the roll of a d20. A fresh and transformative take on tabletop roleplaying, Divination not only uses tarot cards in place of dice, but also integrates the symbolism and tradition of tarot throughout.

We’re back with more Codex of Worlds… this time featuring our entire cast playing the prehistoric Bone Spear setting. Check it out to hear more of the expanded Monster of the Week rules like tracking your community, re-themed playbooks, and more!

An expansion to the Monster of the Week game featuring special team-level playbooks which unite your party of Hunters (think: Agents in Black, Interdimensional Crisis Team, Touring Band, etc.), plus the frameworks for five new settings like weird occult houses, surreal Renaissance Europe, and more.

If you’re looking for a one shot at your table to spice things up, or to infuse new energy into a game you’ve been playing for a while, the Deck of Stories and its ORC storytelling system are the tools for you!

A space-themed survival horror PbtA by S.M. Noble, Starhold takes inspiration from media like Alien, The Expanse, Mass Effect, and The Martian– media that explores what it’s like to live in the claustrophobic margins of a universe that is wholly hostile to our existence, and the moments of terror and glory that can arise out in the void.

In Roman mythology, Decuma is the Fate tasked with allotting a mortal’s thread of life. This game is a tool that facilitates collaborative world-building and character connections using tarot cards. It is effectively a game-before-the-game and gives your PCs the threads of life that you can weave into your long-term campaign!

The stars are right for Great Cthulhu’s return. It’s up to you to make them wrong again!

Can you defeat the vast unknowable evils of the Great Old Ones before you become a monster yourself? Find out in Fate of Cthulhu, a stand-alone game powered by the Fate Core System, available from Evil Hat Games!

Far back in the mists of antiquity, a poet sings of great deeds wrought by mighty heroes—of monsters slain and justice restored, of wise counsel and devious strategies, of courage, valor, and daring—defiant of the gods themselves.

In Evil Hat’s Agon, by John Harper and Sean Nittner, you create and play these heroes, crafting their epic tale into an immortal legend.

The Legion is in retreat following a failed battle against the armies of the undead. You are a member of the Legion, your bonds to one another forged in the dark by bone and blood. Do you have what it takes to outwit, outrun, and outlast the endless hordes of the undead, or will your band of blades break beneath the Cinder King’s iron fist?

Band of Blades, by Stras Acimovic and John LeBoeuf-Little, is available from Evil Hat Games.

Demigods is a fast-paced take on mythology, pulling from any pantheon or belief system you can imagine. Plot the arc of your ascension to godhood while you battle mythological creatures and villains in the modern world.

Using the Powered by the Apocalypse game system, Demigods by Jason Mills brings mythology to life in the style of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods and Good Omens, or Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series.

Thousand Arrows, by Brennan Taylor and James Mendez Hodes and published by Galileo Games, is a tabletop role-playing game about the Japanese Warring States Period. Ruthless warlords’ unchecked ambition has transformed the Land of the Rising Sun into a hell of gunfire and betrayal.

As a samurai general, religious luminary, ninja spymaster, wily courtier, or mysterious sorcerer, you command armies, states, and religions, rewriting the sixteenth century and defining Japan’s destiny. The fast-paced, quick-to-learn Apocalypse Engine powers your tale of passion, loyalty, and tragedy worthy of Kurosawa’s camera.
